This is another Strategies that I have learn this term. -5+3=8 how did I get that. You start with negative number and instead of going up number and go backwards. 5- -3=8 Now this is different the negative sign is next to 3 and the subtract sign. You do the opposite.

I'm not sure that these pictures best demonstrate the ideas behind adding and subtracting negative numbers. You will need to add a few more pictures and perhaps a voiceover so that you are able to clearly explain your thinking.
